Welcome to CookStache. By downloading, installing, or using the CookStache mobile application ("the app"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the app.
CookStache is a free mobile application for backyard grillers and griddle cooks. The app allows you to track your BBQ inventory (sauces, rubs, seasonings, meats, wood), log your cooks, discover recipes, and get AI-powered suggestions. The app is provided by CookStache and is available on iOS and Android.
You must be at least 13 years old to use CookStache. By using the app, you represent that you are at least 13 years of age. If you are under 18, you represent that a parent or legal guardian has reviewed and agreed to these Terms on your behalf.
To use CookStache, you must create an account using Google Sign-In, Apple Sign-In, or email and password. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials. You agree to provide accurate information when creating your account and to keep it up to date.
You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account. If you become aware of unauthorized use of your account, contact us immediately at hello@cookstache.com.
You retain ownership of all content you create in the app, including stache items, cook logs, recipes, photos, ratings, and notes ("Your Content"). By using the app, you grant CookStache a limited, non-exclusive license to store, process, and display Your Content solely to provide the app's features to you.
When you share a cook, the shared content becomes publicly accessible via a link. You are responsible for the content you share. You can delete shared cooks at any time from within the app.
You agree not to upload content that is illegal, harmful, threatening, abusive, defamatory, or that infringes on the intellectual property rights of others.
You agree to use CookStache only for its intended purpose. You agree not to:
CookStache uses artificial intelligence (Google Gemini) for product identification from photos, recipe suggestions, and pairing tips. AI-generated content is provided for informational purposes only and may contain errors. CookStache does not guarantee the accuracy of AI-generated content. Always use your own judgment when cooking, especially regarding food safety, temperatures, and cooking times.
CookStache integrates with third-party services including Google Firebase, Google Gemini AI, YouTube, Spoonacular, Open Food Facts, and Amazon Associates. Your use of content from these services is subject to their respective terms and policies. CookStache is not responsible for the availability, accuracy, or content provided by third-party services.
Amazon product links in the app include affiliate tags. When you purchase products through these links, CookStache may earn a commission at no additional cost to you.
CookStache is a free app. There are no subscription fees, paywalls, or charges to users. We reserve the right to introduce optional paid features in the future, but existing free features will remain free.
We strive to keep CookStache available at all times, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted service. The app may be temporarily unavailable for maintenance, updates, or reasons beyond our control.
We may modify, update, or discontinue features of the app at any time. We will make reasonable efforts to notify users of significant changes through the app or our website.
You may delete your account at any time from the Settings screen within the app. Upon deletion, your account enters a 30-day deactivation period during which you can sign back in to reactivate it. After 30 days, all your data is permanently deleted. See our Privacy Policy for more details on data retention.
The CookStache name, logo, design, and all associated trademarks are the property of CookStache. The app's code, design, and original content are protected by copyright. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works from the app without written permission.
CookStache is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not warrant that the app will be error-free, uninterrupted, or free of harmful components. We disclaim all warranties, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
CookStache provides cooking-related information and suggestions for entertainment and informational purposes. We are not responsible for the outcome of any recipe, cook, or food preparation. Always follow proper food safety guidelines.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, CookStache and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the app, including but not limited to loss of data, loss of profits, or personal injury. Our total liability for any claim arising from these Terms or your use of the app shall not exceed $50.
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless CookStache, its operators, and affiliates from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including reasonable attorney fees) arising from your use of the app, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any third party's rights.
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by posting the updated Terms in the app or on our website. The "Last updated" date at the top indicates when the Terms were last revised. Your continued use of the app after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, United States, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising from these Terms shall be resolved in the courts of Travis County, Texas.
