The Potluck Features Guided Cook Blog Help Get the App

Welcome to The Potluck

Last updated: July 19, 2026

The Potluck is the community side of CookStache. The idea is simple: you bring a dish, you take one home. Share your best cooks, discover what other pitmasters are making, and save the ones you want to try yourself.

Finding The Potluck

Tap the Potluck tab in the bottom navigation. You'll land on the community feed, where shared cooks from pitmasters across CookStache are waiting.

Each card shows the cook's photo, name, the chef who shared it, and its community rating. Tap any cook to see the full details — ingredients, temps, times, step-by-step method, and what other people thought when they cooked it.

Fire, Save, Follow

There are three ways to interact with what you find:

Fire — See a cook you love? Tap the flame to give it a Fire. Fires help great cooks rise in the feed so more people find them.

Save — Tap Save to add a cook to your own collection so you can find it later and cook it yourself. Saved cooks show up alongside your own in the Cooks tab.

Follow — Like a chef's style? Follow them from their profile and their new shared cooks will be easier to find.

Browsing and Discovering

Use the browse and search tools to explore by protein, technique, or chef. The feed surfaces what's heating up — cooks that are earning Fires and getting cooked by other people.

Cook It Yourself

The whole point of the Potluck is reciprocity. When you find a cook you want to make, save it, cook it, and then use "I Cooked This" to bring your results back to the table — a rating, a photo of your plate, and any notes. That feedback is what makes the community work. See the "I Cooked This" article for the full flow.

The Potluck on the Web

Shared cooks and public chef profiles are also visible on the web at cookstache.com/potluck, so you can send a cook to a friend who doesn't have the app yet. Anyone with the link can view it; they'll need the app to fire, save, or share their own.
